Jane was from Hatherton, a hamlet in the parish of Wybunbury.

Jane and her family, except for Thomas who died on the voyage, arrived in Chester on 14 Aug 1682, settling on a grand of land from William Penn, made 5 Apr 1682.

She is probably the sister of Daniel Moore, who married John's sister Margery. A Jane Moore who died 27 Mar 1671 according to the Quaker records, is probably their mother.
