The year for Joseph's birth is unknown, but was probably well after 1740, and before 1754. The known information is 9-23-17xx.
On Sep 18 1775, Joseph and Mary sold the deed to the Robin Hood Tavern to William Woodward of Northern Liberties.
Joseph purchased 67.5 acres, 19 perches from his father-in-law Richard for £540 on 1 May 1777, and another 20 acres, 3 roods, 20 perches for £104 on 14 Aug 1787.
On 16 Feb 1790, he added another 44.5 acres for £268.13, from Ezra Thomas, of Newton. This land had been purchased from the estate of Joseph's father-in-law, Richard Fawkes, the previous day.
On 16 May 1801, he purchased 3 acres, 32 perches for $60 from Samuel Caley and wife, Hannah.
He sold a messuage including 6 acres, 98 perches in Marple to William Grim, of Marple, for $1000. This had previously been purchased 6 Oct 1794 from John Ryan and his wife Hannah.
On his death, Joseph had a net worth of $7117.16¾.
