General Notes and Anecdotes
The Covenant of the First Church of Watertown is dated 30 July 1630. Robert was one of the first members of that church. [book-palmer-families-in-america-1966]
Robert was a representative to the General Court from Watertown in 1634, 1635, and 1636, and a selectman in Waterotown, in 1638, 1639 and 1640. [book-palmer-families-in-america-1966]
In 1640 he sold his homestead in Watertown and went with Captain Daniel Patrick (under whom he had been made a Lieutenant on 4 Sep 1632) to Greenwich, Connecticut Colony, where he purchased large grants of land. They were joined by Captain John Underhill (who was later to marry Robert's daughter, Elizabeth) in May 1642. [book-palmer-families-in-america-1966]
In Jun 1644, Captain Patrick was killed by the natives. Soon after, Robert returned to Watertown. He apparently had some type of mental illness and left for England, returning a couple of years later in better condition. [book-palmer-families-in-america-1966]

Research Notes (Conflicts/Spelling/Followup)
FOLLOWUP
Robert and Elizabeth (Fownes) Feake had five children: Elizabeth (born abt. 1633), Hannah (born abt. 1636), John (born abt. 1838/9), Robert (baptized 17 Jul 1642), and Sarah (baptized 14 Apr 1647). The baptisms took place in the Dutch Churcy, New York City. Elizabeth married (1659) Capt. John Underhill. Hannah married (7 May 1656) John Browne. John married (15 Sep 1678) Elizabeth Prior. [book-palmer-families-in-america-1966]
Stories abound about the adultery of wife Elizabeth, and these, if true, may be at least part of Robert's mental status. There is also controversy about whether or not Robert and Elizabeth were truly divorced, leaving Elizabeth free to marry William.
Robert may have passed away in 1660, not 1662/63.
