Clyde's father was born in Michigan and his mother in Ohio. [census-us-1930-ps-ca-losangeles-552-12a]
In the records from Helen (Johnson) Caswell Oram's estate, was found a memorial card for Daisy E. Caswell (b. 14 Feb 1874, d. 21 Apr 1960). She was buried in Melrose Abbey Cemetery, and a (fully matching) Find A Grave image shows she was married to Harry P. Caswell (1872-1964). Was Harry the father of Clyde? There is difference of 21 years between their birthdates, so they could be brothers, but this seems very unlikely. Finding the memorial card in Helen's records and noting that Daisy (and Harry) had the same last name as Helen's first husband, strongly suggests a relative of some type.
Clyde and Marguerite probably married in Chicago, Illinois. From Cook County, Illinois, Marriages Index 1871-1920) database on Ancestry.com.
In 1930, Clyde's nephew Charles D. Sherman (born abt 1913 in Illinois) was living with the couple. [census-us-1930-ps-ca-losangeles-552-12a, interview-helen-oram-2009]
After Marguerite's death, Clyde married Marie Esther Krueger (1910-1992).
Clyde's grave marker includes a spouse, Marie Cooper Caswell. The Find A Grave memorial for Marie Caswell notes that after Clyde's death in 1974, she married James R. Cooper, who died Sep 14, 1976 (two years after Clyde). However, in addition to this being such a short time, it seems to contradict with her middle name being Cooper. It seems more likely this was a name change following her marriage to James Cooper, than that she coincidentally had the same name as one of her husbands. My hypothesis is that the unsourced claim that James was a second husband is incorrect; instead, I think James was a first husband and they divorced before Marie married Clyde.
Clyde may have died in 1974.
