SPELLING

First Name: This database uses Ida B. The 1885 Iowa Census uses Oda for the first name. [census-us-ia-1885-s1-carroll-richland-220]

FOLLOWUP

In 1900, John and Ida Spear and their children were sharing a home with Alexander and Ella _____ (the surname is hard to read), who had been married less than two years. [census-us-1900-ps-ia-carroll-50-9b]

Ida died in Coon Rapids, Iowa. [research-a-spear-family-history]

On Find A Grave, there is a marker in Coon Rapids Cemetery with the name "IDA" on it, but no other readable text. However, the source note that a cemetery sexton stated that Ida was not buried there. The source author suggests she might instead be buried in Tama County, Iowa, possibly near her father, Adam. [research-conversation-with-{private}-2008]
