Research Notes (Conflicts/Spelling/Followup)
SPELLING
Surname: This database uses Breck. The 1920 and 1930 U.S. Censuses and the obituary of her sister Helen uses the older spelling of Brech. [census-us-1920-ps-sd-jackson-96-3a, census-us-1930-ps-sd-jackson-7-1a, obituary-helen-shields-2010]
FOLLOWUP
Although the 1940 US Census indicates that Veronica lived in the "same house" as George on 1 Apr 1935, they were not married until May. [census-us-1940-ps-sd-pennington-84-1a, obituary-george-spear-1991]
Veronica worked at Custer State Hospital in Custer, South Dakota, but I have only my memories of this. I don't know when she started or when she stopped working there. A backgrounder has been written for the facility and should be applied when I have more information (or decide to go with my limited memories).
