General Notes and Anecdotes
George Maris' will directed that his plantation be divided in two parts and inherited by sons Isaac and Jehu. Jehu had the additional responsibility of providing for his mother. This was to include two rooms for her personal use, access to the kitchen, cellar, oven, well and spring house, and ground for a garden. He also had to supply her with fire wood and apples from the orchard, and to keep a horse and "cow winter and summer" for her use. [book-maris-family-in-the-us-1885]

Research Notes (Conflicts/Spelling/Followup)
FOLLOWUP
George and Sarah (Levis) Maris may have had another child, Elizabeth, born 27 Feb 1722/23, and who died young, or just unmarried. [research-genealogy-dunwoody-and-hood-families-1899]
Geroge died 30 Dec 1760. [research-genealogy-dunwoody-and-hood-families-1899]
George's proved will mentions James Bartram, Isaac Howell, and Elizabeth Bartram as witnesses. This database doesn't currently have any information on Isaac Howell, but it does contain a James Bartram (b. 1701) and Elizabeth Bartram (b. 1734). Assuming Elizabeth wasn't married to a Bartram (she would have been 21 at the time George's will was proved) could these be the son and granddaughter (through John Bartram) of William Bartram?
