Mercy may have died 29 Jun 1873 in Vermont, of "dropsy." Her age was given as 83y, 8m, 16d, which would translate to a birth date of 13 Oct 1789. Her birth place was Danby [, Vermont] and her parents were Nathan and Elizabeth Smith. (Elizabeth's birth surname was not supplied.) She had apparently married _____ Morrison. (from Vermont Vital Records, 1760-1954 database on FamilySearch, image 5679. Note that Mercy's name is identified as Mary in the transcription; it is possible to read the handwriting on the record as either one.)
