Research Notes (Conflicts/Spelling/Followup)

CONFLICTS

Birth Date: This database uses 18 Apr 1799. Using his age (53) on the official 1850 census date of 1 June 1850 gives a birth date range from 2 June 1796 to 1 June 1797. [census-us-1850-ps-oh-clinton-jefferson-243b]

FOLLOWUP

According to The Encylopedia of American Quaker Genealogy, Vol. 5, page 397, entry (1862, 9, 13), Jesse was buried in Westfork, presumably the Westfork Friends Burial Grounds in Clinton County, OH. I've not yet found a Westfork, could this now be called the Center Friends Burying Grounds?

Included in the Hoggatt household in 1850 was a woman named Ruth Moon. This is probably the mother-in-law of Jesse's brother, Jonathan. [census-us-1850-ps-oh-clinton-jefferson-243b]
