CONFLICTS

Birth Date: This database uses 28 Sep 1908. Using her age (1 8/12 [20 months]) on the official cenus date of 15 Apr 1910 gives a birth date range from 16 Jul 1908 to 15 Aug 1908. [census-us-1910-ps-sd-jerauld-252-1b]

Birth Location: This database uses Wessington Springs. Her certificate of death gives the location of Wessington, which is presumed to be a clerical error. The preference for Wessington Springs is based on her family living in Pleasant Township in 1910, about 3 miles west of Wessington Springs, and about 30 miles south of Wessington. (For background, the 30 mile trip would have been several hours for a horse at its best long distance speed -- a trot, about 8mph -- and about 3/4 hour for a Model T -- which was first available in 1908 -- at its best speed, assuming there was a direct road, and that it could support a car af full speed, both unlikely). [death-sybil-angell-1993]
