Sisters Jane and Mary Woodward married brothers Nathaniel and John Newlin.

Research Notes (Conflicts/Spelling/Followup)

FOLLOWUP

Nathaniel may have married Jane Woodward on the same day his brother married her sister. [book-genealogy-of-the-woodward-family-1879]

Nathaniel and Jane may have had another son, Nathaniel Newlin III, living in Concord, Chester County, Province of Pennsylvania around 1731-1736, where he married Esther Midkiff, who was then a resident of Darby, also in Chester County. (from History of Delaware County, Pennsylvania, Henry Graham Ashmead (ed.), Philadelphia: L. H. Everts & Co., 1884)

The same History of Delaware County, Pennsylvania relates an amusing anecdote about how Esther's parents didn't want her to marry Nathaniel --- not because they didn't like him, but because he lived in the back country where bears were a real problem.

Nathaniel Newlin (3rd) and Esther Midkiff may have had a son, Nathaniel Newlin IV. This son was a member of the State Senate and of the convention which framed the U.S. Constitution in 1790. There are stories that he was offered, and refused, a seat in Congress by the dominant party; not just once, but several times.
