William married firstly, Jael Morris, daughter of Lewis Morris, 9 Jun 1752 in Philadelpha County, Pennsylvania, children unknown to me. William married secondly, Margaret Marlie, daughter of John Marlie, 20 Jun 1769 in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. William and Margaret Shipley's children were the named Sarah (m. Isaac Bartram, Jr.), Ann (m. Thomas See Bartram), John, and Hannah. (Isaac Bartram, Jr. and Thomas See Bartram were cousins; grandsons of John Bartram, by different wives.)
