Mercy may have died 29 Jun 1873 in Vermont, of "dropsy." Her age was given as 83y, 8m, 16d, which would translate to a birth date of 13 Oct 1789. Her birth place was Danby [, Vermont] and her parents were Nathan and Elizabeth Smith. (Elizabeth's birth surname was not supplied.) She had apparently married _____ Morrison. (from Vermont Vital Records, 1760-1954 database on FamilySearch, image 5679. Note that Mercy's name is identified as Mary in the transcription, though it is possible to read the handwriting on the record as either one.)
