Samuel was a member of the Provincial Assembly from Chester County in 1720, 1721, 1722, 1723, 1730, and 1731. [Are these single years, or was there a longer term of service involved?] [book-chester-and-delaware-pa-v1-1904]

Research Notes (Conflicts/Spelling/Followup)

FOLLOWUP

There exists a record of Samuel Levis coming from the MM at Middletown (Bucks County, PA) to the MM at Philadelphia on 31 Aug 1709, to marry Hannah Stretch. (Check Philadelpha MM records.)

The will of Samuel Levis (b.1649) names four grandsons that are his son Samuel's (and probably Hannah's). Their names were given as John, Joseph, William, and Sam'll [Samuel]. [estate-probate-samuel-levis-1734]

Samuel's son Joseph had a son, Thomas, who appears to have an interesting history related to the 12 colonies' declaration of independence from Great Britain. More research is needed. [book-chester-and-delaware-pa-v1-1904]
