[The age given on the census page looks like '4' and is similar to the general way the enumerator wrote other '4' instances on the page, but there is a wide variation in forms and an age of 4 leads to Jane being about 49 when Martha was born. It is also 14 years after the previous (known) child. An age of 14 makes more sense, and the '1' overlays the left side of the '4' so this database will use 14 until other evidence changes it.]
