Research Notes (Conflicts/Spelling/Followup)

FOLLOWUP

Sam's parents were both from Ohio. [census-us-1930-ps-ks-decatur-17-2a]

An entry for a Samuel Arnold in the 1920 U.S. Census hints that he may have been a widower, living alone in Rockwell Township, Norton County, KS, and working as a farmer. Since he was shown as married to Mattie in 1930, this suggests the marriage occured in the decade between. Note that there are no known children from Samuel and Mattie's marriage.
