Research Notes (Conflicts/Spelling/Followup)
CONFLICT
Marriage Date: This database uses 15 Sep 1943. Both Lois' and Melvin's obituaries use 15 Oct 1943. The wedding announcement is the date being used; was there a typo in that story, or did Mel and Lois use a different month (since the day and year are the same)? [obituary-lois-harold-1994, obituary-melvin-harold-1998]
FOLLOWUP
Melvin's parents were Eugene and Egnestina Harold. [obituary-melvin-harold-1998]
Melvin is survived by his son {private} and daughter {private}, three brothers and three sisters (not named). A brother (also not named) preceded him in death. [obituary-melvin-harold-1998]
Melvin's and Lois Algier's obituaries are almost word-for-word identical for their lives following the discharge of Melvin from the U.S. Army. [obituary-lois-harold-1994, obituary-melvin-harold-1998]
Melvin's death on 13 Mar and burial a month and a half later on 30 May is a long interval. Is there an error in the obituary? Was there some reason for this delay?
