General Notes and Anecdotes

When she worked as a secretary (or clerk?) in the Jones County courthouse, she had a reputation as a fast typist, reportedly taking dictation directly on a typewriter. [interview-{private}-2006-a]

While Winnifred and George were living in logging camps around the Black Hills, Winifred drove a Ford Model T truck outfitted with a water tank. She used this to haul water from around Newcastle, WY to the logging camps near Custer, South Dakota. [interview-{private}-2006-b]

During their stay in Salt Lake City, George and Veronica provided a temporary home for her brother Albert and his wife and children while he looked for construction work in Utah. [interview-{private}-2009]

Dak." but Stickney didn't exist in 1901; according to the short history given on Stickney's website (http://www.stickneysd.com/history.html) the original town plat was filed on 17 Aug 1905.
